And it must be the worst place to visit..... ever.
Yes I'm talking Toys R Us. Today I had the pleasure (cough cough) of visiting my local store. The fact that I had the day off to study was neither her nor there. See it is Miss A's birthday on the 1st (can you believe she is 2?!) and as Mr A and I have not been able to think what we can get her*, I rather stupidly thought I'd get some inspiration from wandering aimlessly about the store. I do not know what came over me.
So, it was stacked high and priced to fleece you. I listened to umpteen tanoy announcements which rival, no, no, are worse than those on Paddington Station (and they are grim).
I picked up the Dyson Ball that Master A said her wanted to get her. I grabbed some die cast Thomas characters (she is really into Thomas at the moment) and the magnetic drawing board that I know she will love. But we just wanted something else. I scanned the doll isle thinking that I might possibly be able to 'girl her up' with a doll (she doesn't even play with the one she has) but nothing stuck out. Just as an aside, what on earth has happened to Barbie, she wasn't that tacky 30 years ago, was she?
It was getting desperate. So desperate in fact that I nearly picked up a microphone. You know the sort of thing, basically a handheld amplifier. Don't worry I came to my senses and put it back. She already could give a foghorn a run for its money.
In the end I opted for a vet outfit and set..... Not sure if I have shot myself in the foot there but am left wondering if we should get saving for the university fees!
*Either she or Master A have already got it..... well anything that is nice!
