And a happy New Year

Admittedly it has been a few weeks, but I obviously couldn't let today go past without wishing the world a Happy New Year.  The run up to Christmas was just so busy and I neglected Mrs Average...all that wrapping and card writing (and I think I was supposed to be studying somewhere there too)!

Anyway a few words to start the year off (albeit I have had a few Baileys and my typing is a little laboured).....(apologies for any typos not picked up by the good ole spell check).....

The Average family have said a fond farewell to 2011 and are looking forward to 2012.  This time last year, a double redundancy was staring us in the face.  Thankfully we both managed to obtain gainful employment and we still have a roof over our heads - ok the house is still in its half state of it's "do-up" and our savings dissapeared.  But we made it, together as a family.  We enjoyed a lovely family Christmas at home (no snow though) and a slightly less relaxed New Year at MiLA and FiLAs, but it has been great all the same.

This year is a big one, for us as a family and us as a country (and yeah I'm proud). So as a family the biggy must be that Master C will be going to school!  Agh my big baby!!  No doubt I shall write about it in glorious technicolour as I blub into my keyboard!

As a country.... the Olympics, the Queen's diamond jubilee and the hope that where we live will obtain city status.  Party, party!

Resolutions for 2012?  No, not our style.  We have a list of things we want to do before the end of the year - we see it more as a series of objectives:
  • Finish Missy A's bedroom, finish the bathroom, finish the office and finish the living room...no pressure then as the outside of the house also needs a paint!   So under a programme of activity we shall get there before the end of the summer.
  • Of course we aim to spend as much time together as a family - especially learning, walking (yep a few stone to shed) and cooking.  We have worked out how and when.
As for Mrs Average, she is hoping to get more interactive.  Look forward to more of an insight into Average life, reviews and recipes (apparently my hampers were a real hit so head over to the recipe page for ideas later in the year).

Love and best wishes
Mrs A x
